Choosing an Understatement Support Size, One Letter Down
Start with the size you already know
You do not need to learn a new sizing system from nothing. Start with the Regular size you would normally reach for, in a bralette from any brand. That is your starting point, not a size you need to unlearn.
You can find your size using our fit questionnaire.
Then ask one question
Does your cup, in most bras you own, sit comfortably at C or fuller — meaning you often find the cup slightly tight before the band does?
If the answer is no, Regular sizing is very likely right for you, as is.
If the answer is yes, move one letter down and choose the Support version of that size. A customer who normally wears a Regular M, for instance, would look at Support L — the same backband fit, built with the extra cup depth and reinforcement a fuller cup benefits from.
A worked example
Say you usually wear a 12D in an everyday underwire bra. In Understatement, this generally points to the Support fit, one letter below where your band measurement alone would place you in the Regular range. The backband stays consistent with what you know. What changes is the construction supporting the cup. We suggest an M+ in the Understatement Support Sizes.
